Beef Casserole

Great for winter

Serves 6, each serving approx. 275 calories and 29g protein













  • 700g lean rump steak, cubed
  • 2 large onions
  • 3 tsp mustard powder
  • 3 tsp flour
  • 4 tsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbs tomato sauce
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbs olive oil
Directions

Mix dry ingredients together and toss cubed steak in the mixture. Heat oil in an ovenproof casserole dish and quickly brown the meat. Add sliced onions and the rest of the ingredients and stir well to loosen any bits stuck to the bottom of the pan.

Bake approximately 1 1/2 hours in 180 degree oven, or until the meat is tender. Stir half way through cooking and if necessary add a little more water.
