Foods High in Sodium
- Cheese, butter, margarine
- Pickles, olives, sauerkraut
- Condiments, sauces
- Salad dressings
- Canned vegetables/salads/beans
- Deli salads (with dressings)
- Frozen/packaged meals
- Soups – canned/dried/stock cubes
- Meats such as ham, bacon, sausages, luncheon meats, smoked meats
- Canned fish in brine
- Seasoning salts (eg lemon pepper, garlic, celery)
- Snack foods (potato chips, pretzels, commercially made popcorn
- Canned tomato juice
- Take-away – pizza, burgers, fried chicken, pies, sausage rolls
Moderate Sodium
- Bread (reduced salt)
- Meat, fish, poultry – unprocessed
- Milk, yoghurt, soy drinks, eggs
- Peanut butter
- Breakfast cereals (<200mg/serve)
- Chocolate sweets, fruit/nut bars
- Low-sodium products
Food Low in Sodium
- Products labeled Very Low Sodium or No Added Salt or Salt Free
- Fresh fruit and vegetables
- Canned and dried fruits
- Potatoes, kumara, rice, pasta

Life Changing
