No diet thanks, I’d rather die!
A recent study conducted in the UK revealed that men are “sleep walking” their way towards many health problems they are afraid of.
A poll compared men’s attitudes with their BMI readings in an attempt to reveal what they say as opposed to what they do, ideally motivating them to take action before it’s too late.
The results were startling.
44% of all the men surveyed thought they needed to lose weight. Of the participants who didn’t think they needed to lose weight, 32% were diagnosed as being medically overweight or obese.
One in eight men surveyed can’t see their belt, or their feet.
The top three barriers (excuses) to dieting and exercising to lose weight were, willpower, “it takes too long” and “it’s boring.”
Despite this all of the men surveyed realize that being overweight is a killer, 50% said that heart problems would motivate them to lose weight, 41% high blood pressure, and 30% diabetes.
Interestingly, men in relationships (62% were overweight or obese) are at greater risk than those not in a relationship. (45%)
It would seem that education, or a lack of is the main problem. Almost 80% of the respondents didn’t know that medically obese is actually three stone overweight, nearly half thought that you had to be four or more stone overweight to be considered medically obese.

At Real Nutrition we understand Men's Health.
You won't be put on a starvation diet, and success won't be measured on the scale.
A healthy male should be between 12-20% body fat. We can help you achieve that goal without making too many huge changes to your current lifestyle. Men lose up to a kilo of muscle per year due to lack of strength, stress, poor nutrition and long working hours. This leads to the 'beer belly syndrome' currently displayed by many men over 40 years of age. If you are beginning to show signs of heart disease, such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes a visit to Real Nutrition will help you correct your health within a very short period of time.
