Real Nutrition is Great for Real Men Too!

I am a “60 years young” male member of the human species and I have a very demanding life-style.


As Chairman of a major national project that was coming to fruition, I knew that 2008 was going to be extremely busy and stressful. What could I do to ensure I could continue to perform well and at the same time take care of my health?

In mid-December 2007 I was looking for a source of Resveratrol antioxidant dietary supplement which I'd read about in the media. When I Googled Resveratrol the first site that came up was www.realnutrition.co.nz. Yes they had what I was looking for, but what caught my attention was the easy to understand information on their site about health and nutrition. In particular I liked what they were saying about fat loss, fitness and anti-aging.

I have tried almost every diet and fitness regime at some stage in my life. Frankly I'd become convinced that dieting is for the birds – a form of self flagellation that seemed to appeal to mainly women. However, the Real Nutrition information contained some very practical sounding differences from what I'd experienced previously. So I went along for an initial consultation.

Now I'm hooked and I'm very pleased I am!


Within a few weeks I easily developed a whole new way of eating. I was eating much more than before. I'd gone from two meals a day with maybe one snack in between to eating six times a day! AND I was losing excess body fat at a steady and measurable rate while building muscle. What's more I didn't feel deprived. I was still having most of my favourite foods (and the occasional wine and beer) but the difference now was I was eating a balance of protein and carbohydrate. Previously I had no idea what food was carbohydrate and what was protein!

With friendly guidance from my Real Nutrition personal nutritionist, I was able to design my own flexible menus including easy to manage, highly portable alternatives for the days when I was traveling or staying out of town. I was also having no difficulty in drinking 8 – 10 glasses of water a day.

Three things have combined to make this work well for me.


The first key to my success has been the simple discipline of keeping a daily food diary. Nothing finicky or detailed, just brief 'short hand' entries for each meal and snack.. This has helped me track my eating patterns and food preferences and, with Real Nutritions help during review appointments, to make adjustments to suit my own food preferences, physiology and lifestyle.

The Real Nutrition team are so helpful and I look forward to every visit. The scheduled reviews help me see what I'm achieving in measurable terms. Not just the weight loss shown on the scales – that has not been particularly significant. The main measure is the body fat reduction verified by the calipers. Even without that, I could see my own successes every day as my clothes kept getting more and more loose fitting.

The third success factor has been the daily exercise. I had been reasonably active previously as I have two dogs that insist on being walked twice a day. Occasionally, friends with dogs would join me on our walks. Soon after I started at Real Nutrition these friends began remarking how much faster I was walking and eventually some began having trouble keeping up. The reason is simply and very effectively illustrated when, during my visits to Real Nutrition, My nutritionist gets me to hold various size samples of simulated body fat. When I'm holding 6 kg of these large rubberized globules (which is less than the equivalent excess body fat I've lost in the first 11 weeks, see my picture above) I need no further explanation for why I now pass other walkers with ease and find myself enjoying running up stairs! I've lost more than 8 kilos of solid fat already.

So guys, if my body can do it, ANY BODY can!


Be aware this is NOT a diet. It's not just about eating. It is a change to a healthy more enjoyable and rewarding lifestyle. And it is the easiest change I've ever made!

But BE WARNED!!

If you embark on this approach to living the greatest cost will be replacing your wardrobe and you may lose some walking companions. Also you will need to be emotionally prepared for all the compliments you will receive!

Life Changing
