We were crazy!
It all started back in February 2007 when I decided to partake in the OXFAM Trail walker with two colleagues of mine. We had to walk 100km each in under 36 hours! Yes… we were crazy!
Luckily for us one of my team members had been visiting Real Nutrition, and she had the bright idea that the whole team should go and see her to get the right nutritional advice for the upcoming months of training.
And so it began! Each team member had a fortnightly appointment with Tim and Jacquie to ensure that we were eating the right foods to sustain us through about 30 hours of training each week!
This was a whole new world for me! I’m a 26 year old female where my greatest priorities in life included my career and my social life! I don’t have time to cook – let alone to go grocery shopping! A hearty breakfast for me was an “Up and Go” drink that could be consumed whilst sitting in traffic on my way to work. Lunch was always out in a local café, and dinner was toast, 9 times out of ten! I justified that by consuming a lot of vitamins and copious cups of green tea!
Well let’s just say that it wasn’t long before Jacquie had knocked those habits out of me! Yes – regrettably, I now have to go to the supermarket. But it’s actually not that bad. Jacquie made it so simple for me, with lots of healthy balanced meals that I could prepare in about 10 minutes. She even showed me how easy it was to stick to a healthy eating regime while dining in cafes and restaurants. Perfect!
I was now eating soooo much food, yet surprisingly the weight and centimeters were just falling off me! Fantastic! I also had heaps of energy for all of that walking and was losing fat and maintaining muscles.
Now that the walking is all over and life is returning to normal, I’m still carrying all of Jacquie’s advice with me. She has definitely changed my life for the better. Thank you Jacquie for all of your support, and a big thank you to Tim for your positivity and encouragement. You guys rock!
