I was desperate
I first visited Real Nutrition in November 2006
I was desperate and felt like a complete failure as a mother because I could not help my son to lose some weight
(I'm a health professional).
We were eating all the healthy stuff (definitely not pigging out on chocolates and biscuits), the whole family was doing some sort of sport and we were generally very healthy.
BUT, we all needed to lose some weight and I did not want to put a child on a diet (although Mum and Dad have tried all the diets in the world).
Jacquie has a wonderful way with children, and helped my son to make some wise choices when he is away from home and with friends. Tim was fantastic and made my son feel so proud of just being himself and of the new changes in his physique.
I then started to train with 3 colleagues for the OXFAM Trailwalker (you have to walk 100km in 36hours - and it's not a relay), and thought great, now I will lose the weight! I told my teammates about Jacquie and we all made appointments to go and see her to make sure that we eat properly and to make sure that we survive the event in good shape. Jacquie worked out a balanced eating plan for each individual to suit his/her body type. We ate heaps, had lots of energy, and even lost weight! She also had been a great help with ideas for meals on the run, snack foods while we're walking and was just awesome in motivating and supporting us.
We finished the event in 29 hours 18 minutes on the 15th of April this year!
In the mean time, my husband had also started to go to Real Nutrition. You should see the family at night filling out food diaries! We are all eating slightly different eating plans (except for the main meal), and do not have cravings anymore. She even allows us to have the occasional beer and red wine (Mum and Dad that is – not the kids!)!
I would recommend Jacquie to everyone that feels frustrated when the kilo's pile back on after a diet. If you are into endurance sport, you would do your body a favour to get onto the right balanced eating program to sustain you during training and to help recovery afterwards.
