Diets don’t work!

The truth is that diets don’t work long term; up to 60% of the weight lost from diets can come from loss of body mass and water, leaving the dieter temporarily lighter, but fatter - ready to start on their next diet. Diets don’t work because they do not address changing long term habits or educating the dieter.

We know that our coaching really works, especially when we combine it with an individualised nutrition and lifestyle plan. You will be regularly coached, given personal goals and educated as to how your body works.

You will learn very quickly that the number on the scales has nothing to do with success as the aim is to lose body fat kilos whilst maintaining metabolically active lean mass. A diet is something you stop and start, but at Real Nutrition you take on new habits and leave old habits behind, achieving your goal means not having a diet to get off, because you have gradually taken on new permanent habits. What to Expect

At your first consultation you will spend one hour with a nutritionist, planning and goal setting so that you can easily achieve your goal. You'll be educated along the way and we offer expert advice. You'll learn how your body functions, how to improve your metabolism, and how to start getting results.
You'll find out what to eat, how much to eat and when to eat. You'll be surprised just how easy it is once you get started. We'll help structure your plan to include your food preferences and we'll take into account your lifestyle and your budget.

No Contracts
There are no contracts! we don't lock you in or demand you pre-pay your appointments. We do recommend that you follow-up with your nutrition coach every two weeks for half an hour. For best results we recommend fortnightly appointments over 12 weeks. By then you will have all the tools necessary to self-manage your nutrition.

Every one has different unique goals. You may be an elite athlete needing nutritional help, or you may be over 60 needing more energy. Some of you may need to lose a large amount of weight, while some of you may only need to find out if you are eating enough. Eat to beat PMT

Pre-menstrual tension or PMS can destroy your fitness and weight loss goals, but dietary changes can help balance hormone levels and reduce your symptoms. Stay away from crash diets or fad diets because they can make symptoms worse by disrupting your blood sugar levels and increasing any nutrient deficiencies. Ensure you are eating small nutritious meals throughout the day to help with energy levels.

Avoid eating too many refined carbohydrates such as white bread, pastries, crackers and sweets. Vitamin B6, Calcium and Magnesium are useful in treating PMS symptoms. If you are not using dietary supplements, start with a multivitamin and try additional calcium and magnesium. Aim for a 2:1 ratio of Calcium and Magnesium. If your symptoms don’t change visit a Naturopath or Dietician to ensure you are eating a balanced diet. Food really can make a huge difference when it comes to hormone imbalances.
