7.15am
I have two pieces of wholemeal toast, one with peanut butter (crunchy of course) and tomato (don’t knock it until you try it) and the other with avocado and tomato. I also have a Berocca. I have been lacking in my b-b-bounce of late!
9.45am I’m such a Jafa. I have a soy chai latte from Upstairs Cafe in Newmarket.
12.15pm
Scored the lunchtime special at St Pierre’s sushi today - who would think that a company with a French name could make such great Japanese food? I have a few pieces of salmon and avocado sushi.
3.30pm
Need to get ready to hit the gym and pump some iron later, so I top up the energy levels with a bowl of peaches and natural yoghurt, sprinkled with some seeds.
4.55pm
Need a snack, so I nibble on some more seeds Hey, if it’s good enough for the birds, it’s good enough for me!
5.55pm
My body’s feeling bit low on sugar so I resort to having a plum instead of something more sinister like a bag of lollies. My body is a temple.... well at least for today.
8.00pm
My flatmate took over the reins tonight and made zesty quinoa with broccoli and cashews, with a nice juicy piece of corn as a side. I hear it’s good to have meat-free nights for dinner so we’re both trying to channel our inner vegetarians.
9pm
Jade, the aforementioned flatmate and also my best friend, can’t seem to make herself hot chocolate to save her life, so when she summons me to make her a cup of Jarrah hot chocolate, I indulge in one too.
Jacquie says
If you’re into hot chocolates and minding your weight, a Jarrah hot chocolate could save you up to 350 calories when used to replace many other cafe-style drinks. So if you’re looking for ways to reduce your energy intake (and let’s face it, we all love to diet) simply replacing cafe-style fancy coffees or hot chocolates with a Jarrah drink could cut a significant amount of fat and sugar out of your diet.
At fewer than 60 calories a cup, a Jarrah gets the thumbs up from me.
Looking over the rest of Amber’s day I see very little to comment on.
Plenty of people seem to think that peanut butter is a fattening food, but this is far from the truth. An all-natural nut butter made from just peanuts and salt is actually a really healthy addition to the diet. Be wary of peanut butters with added sugar or labelled ‘lite’ though. Even better, make your own nut butter with almonds, peanuts and cashews.
If you’re lazy like me, just grab it from your local health food store. Well, Amber, good job with your food and exercise. You may want to change your vitamins though. I could find sodium and aspartame on the Berocca label but I couldn’t find any selenium, iodine or vitamin D.
For what it’s worth, I’d be choosing something more complete for a better bounce.
